The Sydney Eclectic Composers Society (SECS) is a student organisation based at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music focussed on supporting new & student musicians.

Each year we organise a variety of functions provide opportunity for members to develop their skills in the fields of performance, musicology, composition, conducting and music administration (or concert organising).

We aim to:

• Run AT LEAST 4 concerts a year, providing recordings and performances of new student works

• Publish and maintain the Black Book (in either a print or online form), providing a place for musicologists and other music student to review concerts and have their say on music

• Sponsor an ensemble for 2 concerts each year, to help performances student gain an understanding and appreciation of new music, while still promoting their work as individual musicians and as an ensemble.

• Keep accurate records and bios of current members' involvement and achievements for the purposes of self-promotion

This website serves as a vehicle for promoting our members, our events and publications and new music in general.
